10 Best Things of Being Short

Hello, my friends from all the sizes!

HAPPY PETITE AND PROUD DAY :)

Actually, it was on the 4th of May, but better late than never, right?

I am less than 5ft, if its not common knowledge. But, yes, I am proud of being this size. The fun size. There are lots of advantages of being short, trust me. I used to have the same insecurity back then. But I thought, I like being me, and I am not me if I'm taller.

What if I'm 10 centimeters taller? What if I am 20 centimeters taller? Will I still be this thoughtful to other (PETITE) people? Or will I make fun of them like some people do? (Shortie's got each others back, you know) My friends won't make fun of me for being short. I won't be able to feel just really really really happy upon finding out that someone is shorter than me (A rare thing, but still).

And besides, who breaths fresher air? ME!!!!!
(This is because the higher you are the atmosphere, the air becomes thinner, common knowledge)

So, here are the top 10 best things about being a shortie:

1. HELLO LEG ROOMS!
This picture tells everything, does it? Thank you telegraph!

2. NO WORK OUT = WORK OUT
Admit it, guys. We tip-toe a lot. We climb cabinets a lot. We work out without even noticing it :p Who says ballerinas are the only ones able to stand in one toes for a very long time?

3. No bed is ever too small. My bed is my kingdom.
We are never too tall or too big for a bed. Single, double, queen, king, anything. We are very flexible of sleeping anywhere, in whatever way.

4. Low ceilings? No problem!
People usually need to bend their backs just to pass this little obstacles such as low ceilings, low doors, low elevator ceilengs, airplane ceilings (which have on off lamps and AC buttons on it), low bus ceilings. We can ommit that. We stand tall through it all :)

5. We are MULTI-FUNCTIONAL
Arm rest, head rest, a bolster, what else? We are doing good without even trying guys. We help people!

6. TOO LONG is always better than TOO SHORT
Too long? Cut it. Too short? Sorry.... People see us as size S, although we are probably not that little. That is an advantage, right?

7. HI HEELS!
"The higher the heels, the better you feel" as some girls would say. With heels on, we never intimidate anyone. With no heels on, we still do not intimidate anyone. Wearing sneakers, flats, flip flops, barefoot or anything will not intimidate anyone.

8. TALL GUYS . SHORT GUYS . ANY GUYS (yayy!)
From Ansel Elgort, Josh Duhamel, to Tom Cruise, Dave Franco and Zac Efron. We look cute with just anyone.

9. We LOOK UP on people.
Looking up with your big eyes fixed on his (or hers). And his (or hers) fixed on yours.
In our defence, we never truly look down on people.

10. MODUS becomes easy.
In Indonesian, we call it modus. In English, it means taking opportunities to flirt, or talk to, or say hi, or get to know someone. Having hidden agenda in doing something.
You can't reach for your bag in the airplane cabin? Look for that charming male flight attendant.
You wanna grab something on the top shelf? Ask for help from Lee Minho :)

Who else remember this scene from City Hunter?

These are my TOP TEN. And really, I feel great being short. I think every petitos out there should too. We are limited editions, special offers and simply perfect. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

If you are still insecure about your height right now, just remember. There will be the day when something turns your head, something changes your mind. And then someday you will be glad that you are only at this height.

Here are some scenarios of how:
1. You might not like your height, but there's always someone who love it. Who thinks that your height makes you perfect. Who loves you for who you are.
2. You see Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes' wedding pictures and realize that she is bending her back in almost every picture.
3. You look at Josh Duhamel and Fergie's wedding pictures.
4. Being short becomes a part of who you are, and letting go seems wrong.
5. Your size do not define who you are anymore, because people see you as something bigger in the heart.

Be comfortable in your own skin, tall or short, big or small. The art of sizes is what makes this world a picture perfect.

You are bigger than your size :)

Love,

Your petito friend-

CATCH-UP: The January

Hello people of the earth!

I know that January is over, and yet I haven't post my dear january, nor did I post my catch-up: new year. But, that month was beautiful, I promise.
So, well let's do a quick catch-up :)

First of all,
I started this year the same way I did last year.
Yeah well, I was in Kuningan, Jawa Barat. (That's where my grandmother lives, btw)
Some of my mother's siblings live there, so we visited them. We had the new year's eve dinner in my grandmother's house, and then we all went to watch the fireworks at the parking lot near Goa Maria Sawer Rahmat. It was a typical night, unfortunately, except that everyone was there celebrating 2015 with lots of fireworks and trumpets and other stuffs.

The first day of school of the year was by the 6th of January. So, on the days leading to that, I pretty much spent my days watching movies, including Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. (That was my first time ever watching Harry Potter)
School was typical, really. We barely learned anything (!)

On January 15th, 2015, the eleventh graders in my school went to Boro. We were doing live-in. It is basically an activity, which includes the participants to stay in houses much different from our houses in the city and join their family and tranditions. Trust me, I am so honored to be able to experience all this. Thank God!

We went back to Jakarta on the 21st of January, taking big amount of moral lesson with us. And on the 22nd, we went to school. This time, it's for a discussion (or, as I would call, lecture) on what we got during the live-in. The whole learning process was really great, you know, except that we drained out of exhaustion. We basically just needed sleep ;(

Let's go back a little, January 18th is my mom's birthday! She turned 44 this year and YES, I was farrrrrr awayyyyy from home. But no worries, we celebrated her birthday on the 23rd or 24th, after I got home. Now I just remember, I haven't got her any present. Great. Sorry mom, and thank you for not demanding for one ._. I feel guilty though.

The Student Body Inauguration was held on the 28th of January. And good news is, I got in! I was given the job as the new Public Relation and Documentation Officer? I don't know what it is called in this language, but in Indonesian, we call is Humas dan Dokumentasi. It was weird because I applied for secretary of the spiritual section, but I got this job instead. Let's just say, it's God's will. Because, I believe in Him. And His plans are much better than mine <3

Anyways, now I'm really trying hard to get this job right. It is a big responsibility, you know, to be responsible for the school's news and social media, plus of course, documentation. If you know me, I'm pretty sure I spend my life mostly getting my photo taken by someone else, and not taking pictures. So, like I said, this will be my one-hell-of-a-ride, I guess.

And that summed up my January. Or at least, part of my January.
It was a really great month to start 2015, and I really wish that the upcoming months will be just as good, or maybe better.

15th of January, getting ready for LIVE IN :)

CATCH-UP: Merry Christmas!

Hello, the people of internet!
MERRY CHRISTMAS! Hope you all have a blessed one :) :) :)
(I would love to sing Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas right now, because it's my favorite christmas song ever, but since we're so farrrrrrr away--- maybe next time?)

So Christmas is over. Yes, and I didn't post anything. Bye bye commitment :(
Well, since it is already very late, let's start from the very beginning. The road to Christmas 2014.

I spent the 24th making my mom's present, a prayer collection book cover, surprise suprise mom. I was going to sew it when I realised, my needle and thread was gone somewhere. Very typical huh, when you do not need it, it's there before your eyes, yet when you search for it, they are gone. So I ended up using the needle and thread set from hotels (who else keeps the whole hotel bathroom set and take it home?) But the thread wasn't long enough ...... so glue it is!

Anyways, Christmas Eve was great. My parents, Vinka and I went to attend the Holy Mass at 9pm. We actually sat seperately because I got this "job" to light candles by the christmas tree, so I sat with Queenshell and the rest of the OMK scout.

This year's christmas, luckily, felt a little more christmas-sy than last year. My whole family visited my house. We ate supper (is that how you spell it?), watched Star Trek into the Darkness (don't blame us, it was on Fox Movies Premiere and Chris Pine was like, just staring at us .... with that dreamy blue eyes, who are we kidding?), my aunts and uncles laughing and talking, kids (including me, HAHA) gathered around the christmas tree opening presents!

Here's a list of what I got:
- A cross keychain (Thankyouuuu Joshua, Jeremiah and Naomi)
- A notebook (Auntie Marta is a wrap-goddest)
- A makeup set (although it's a sample set, apperently my mom bought it with love ♡)
- A strawberry blander-bottle (actually this is my sister's as our presents got switch hahaaaaa mom ..... apperently I was supposed to get a egg-sausage-satay maker, but my sister got it instead ._.)

On the 25th, we went to the mall for a little christmas feel (christmas decors are dayumm!)

After attending yet another Holy Mass, my family went for dinner with my parents' pals back in university. They have the coolest friendship ever that I began to question my own life :( We had seafood by the beach, but it didn't taste good enough eventhough I was so hungreeeehhhh.

Next in discussion, CHRISTMAS WISH(ES):
I'm not gonna lie, last year I asked for a damn lot. Like a bunch of things I wanted Santa to check off (Santa baby, slip a Rolex under the tree, for me. I've been an awful good girl.....) I didn't remember all the things I wished for, but I know height gain and a boyfriend were on the list. Things I still haven't recieve. (Santa can you hear me? I have been so good this year. All I want is one thingggggg, tell me my true love is nearrrrrrrrrr, it's all I want, just for me, underneath the christmas tree. I'll be waiting hereeeee, Santa that's my only wish LAST yearrrrr, which you failed to check off)

Turns out, I got lessons, straight from Heaven. I got my heart broken, my pride shatered and my self esteem flat as the ground.

As a result, I changed my dream guy criteria by a lot lot lot lot lottttttt.

This year, God, I really just wanna be happy. I wanna be thankful for everything You gave me. And to appreciate myself :) That's not much to ask right? I believe in Your judgements, Lord.

Love,

Vela
Your kid from Earth.
